Sacred Places Institute for Indigenous Peoples (SPI) is a California Indigenous-led, community-rooted organization whose mission is to build the capacity of Native Nations and Indigenous Peoples to protect sacred lands, waters, and cultures.

We Are

▶ Indigenous organizers, Tribal leaders, artists, scholars, cultural practitioners, human rights advocates, and environmental law attorneys with decades of experience in Indigenous land use law and policy, cultural preservation, research justice, and grassroots organizing

▶ A virtual and in-person platform for sharing ideas and strategies: We work with Native Nations and Indigenous Peoples throughout what is known as California and around the world.
